Editorial Standards and Corrections

Safer Digital Desk aims to publish practical, accurate, and reproducible guidance for freelancers and small teams. These standards describe how topics are selected, how claims are supported, and how mistakes are corrected.

Editorial Purpose

Each article should solve a defined problem involving accounts, files, devices, client information, or small-team access. We do not publish an article merely to cover a keyword, reach a word count, or increase publishing volume.

Evidence and Sources

  • Consequential claims should link to current, direct documentation from the relevant provider, standards body, regulator, or government source.
  • Product pricing, availability, limits, privacy choices, and terms are treated as changeable facts and dated or described without unnecessary fixed figures.
  • Documentation-based comparisons are labeled as such.
  • We do not claim hands-on testing unless the stated process was actually performed and recorded.
  • Anonymous anecdotes, unsupported earnings or savings claims, and security guarantees are not acceptable evidence.

Original Work

Where useful, articles include original screenshots, fictional test data, worksheets, decision flows, worked examples, or test records. Screenshots must be reviewed for exposed personal or client data. External material is summarized and attributed; it is not reproduced as a substitute for original guidance.

Independence and Commercial Relationships

The site does not currently publish sponsored posts or affiliate links. If a commercial relationship is introduced later, it must be disclosed clearly near the affected content. Payment, access, or a commercial relationship will not guarantee favorable coverage or removal of a factual limitation.

Security and Professional Limits

Security is presented as risk reduction, not certainty. Articles should identify material limitations, recovery needs, and situations that require a qualified professional. We do not fabricate incidents, clients, credentials, results, or personal experience.

Corrections

Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review the article, the cited source, the platform's current documentation, and any reproducible evidence. Confirmed material errors are corrected promptly when practical. A meaningful correction may include an updated date or correction note; minor spelling or formatting changes may be made without a separate notice.

Updates are not made merely because a company or individual dislikes an accurate, supported statement. Requests must identify the exact issue and provide relevant evidence.
